How much does it cost to build a competition website in the UK?
Our build fee is £3,995 + VAT. Hosting then runs from £499 a month (Standard) up to Elite from £2,499 a month, depending on how many tickets you sell. Prizes, card fees and marketing are extra.
Do you take a cut of my ticket sales?
No. You pay one build fee and one monthly fee. The monthly steps up with your ticket volume, never with a share of your sales.
Which features come with every build?
Every standard feature listed on this page: offers, player features, provably fair draws and the full back office. You switch each one on or off from your own dashboard.
Is it legal to run a prize competition website in the UK?
Many UK businesses run prize competitions legally. A prize competition generally stays outside lottery rules when there is a genuine free entry route or a real test of skill. We build in a skill question and a free postal route, but how the rules apply depends on your set-up, so take legal advice and have a solicitor check your terms.
Do I need a Gambling Commission licence to run a raffle website?
A lottery, where people pay and winners are picked purely by chance, generally needs a licence or registration and cannot be run for private profit. A prize competition with a proper free entry route or skill element is usually treated differently. Read the Gambling Commission's guidance and take advice.
What is a free postal entry route, and is it required?
It is a way to enter without paying, usually by posting your details and answer. Postal entries should have the same chance of winning as paid ones. It is a common way to keep a competition outside lottery rules, so whether you need one depends on your set-up. Every site we build offers one alongside a skill question.
How do players know the draw is genuinely random?
The winner is worked out from public randomness published after entries close, so nobody could know it in advance. Each competition has a public verify page that re-runs the draw in the player's own browser, with no account needed, and lands on the same winner.
What does the ABOS Verified seal certify?
The integrity of the draw: that the winner, the instant-win prizes and the entry list were sealed and drawn exactly as promised, and that anyone can prove it. It certifies the maths, not whether a prize was posted on time.
Do I need to be technical?
No. We design, build, host, monitor, back up and support the site. You run your competitions from a simple back office.
Can I use my own brand and domain?
Yes. The site is designed around your name, colours and logo, on your own domain. Payments run through your own payment provider account, so the customer relationships stay yours.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. Every site is built for phones first and runs in any phone browser, from the homepage to checkout and the player's account.
Which payment providers accept competition and raffle websites?
Some card providers will not take prize competitions, so check before you sign up. Tell us which provider you have in mind and we will tell you whether we can connect it.
