How much extra flooring should I buy?
Add around 10 percent for waste in a simple room, and up to 15 percent for diagonal laying or awkward shapes. Keeping one spare pack is wise for repairs.
Do I need underlay too?
Usually yes, unless the boards have it attached. Underlay is sold separately by area, so use your room size (without the waste) to estimate it.
