Almost all UK workers are entitled to 5.6 weeks of paid holiday a year — that is 28 days for someone working five days a week (the statutory cap). Part-time workers get the same 5.6 weeks pro-rata. This tool works out the minimum from your working pattern. Employers can offer more, and may or may not count bank holidays within your allowance.

Frequently asked questions

Are bank holidays included?

They can be. The 5.6 weeks is the legal minimum and an employer may include the 8 UK bank holidays within it or give them on top — check your contract.

How does part-time holiday work?

It is pro-rata: multiply the days you work each week by 5.6. So a 3-day week gives 16.8 days of paid holiday.
